My Top Five Favorite Walt Disney World resorts:

8/6/2021

Picture
First up is Animal Kingdom Lodge!
Imagine waking up and walking out on the balcony to see African animals enjoying their breakfast! This resort is simply amazing and like no other on property. There are two sections to the resort, Jambo and Kidani. In Kidani you will find Disney Vacation Club villas that include studios, one, two, and three bedroom villas. Jambo is made up of mostly standard rooms with two queen beds.
Kidani is home to one of my family's favorite restaurants, Saana. We love the homemade Naan with 9 delicious dipping sauces. Jambo is home to Boma and Mara which are table and quick service restaurants. While Boma has not yet reopened the Mara is a great place to get something to eat.
Guests can travel to all parks via bus service with Animal Kingdom park being the closest. Guests can also enjoy both pools and there is shuttle van that will take you between both sides of the resort.

Next up on my favorite resort list is Disney's Riviera Resort!
This is one of the newest resorts and part of Disney Vacation Club. Rooms range from a tower studio that sleeps 2 all the way to 3 bedroom grand villas. The preferred studio sleeps 5 and has a beautiful view of the lake.
Riviera is home to an amazing rooftop restaurant called Topolino's. Serving dinner and a character breakfast with delicious food and stunning decor.
The outdoor area is landscaped immaculately! With numerous places to sit, a main pool with children's area plus a quiet pool, and Bar Riva just steps away for a bite to eat or a cool drink!
Riviera is connected to Epcot and Hollywood Studios via Skyliner and bus service to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom.

Disney's Polynesian Village Resort which is probably my family's favorite! Located on the monorail with views of Cinderella's castle you will feel like you are at a tropical Hawaiian getaway!
I recently showed you the brand new Moana themed rooms and they are gorgeous! Rooms sleep 5 guests with 2 queens and a daybed. Studio rooms also sleep five and have a small kitchenette.
The Poly as it is nicknamed is home to popular restaurants, Ohana and Kona as well as Captain Cook's quick service and Pineapple Lanai where you can get the delicious Dole Whip!
We love the pool here! The Lava pool is a great place to cool off after a day in the parks and the volcano slide is one of the fastest according to my son! Little ones can enjoy Kiki Tikis Splash Play Area while mom and dad enjoy a Pina Colava poolside!
The resort is all about location!!!! Monorail service to Magic Kingdom and Epcot or a boat ride to Magic Kingdom and bus to Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios.

Disney’s Boardwalk Inn and my top pick favorite resort and the one I have stayed at the most. One of the reasons I love it is that you can walk to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios! Spacious rooms sleep 5 with 2 queens and a daybed. Villas range from studios to 3 bedroom grand villas.
The theming of the this resort to will take you back in time to a turn of the century boardwalk at the beach. Located on Crescent Lake take a quick walk to the Beach and Yacht Club resort for additional dining options or stroll the boardwalk and enjoy night time entertainment and shopping.
The pool has been recently updated to include your favorite Disney friends along side a fun twisty turvy water slide! Need more of a quiet time by the pool? Boardwalk has several quiet non feature pool as well.
Grab a quick bite to eat at Broadway Bakery or from the pizza window or enjoy an Italian meal at Trattoria al Forno. After a day in the parks adults can enjoy a magical cocktail at AbracadaBar or Belle Vue Lounge.
One of our favorite stays at Boardwalk was over Christmas! This resort has some of the most gorgeous decorations and trees!

To finish out my list of my favorite Disney resorts I am bringing you Disney’s Grand Floridian. Located on the monorail and across the lake from Magic Kingdom it is a stunning hotel perfect for a couple’s getaway or a week long family stay. Rooms sleep 5 with 2 queens and a daybed with villas ranging from studios to 3 bedroom grand villas.
There are several amazing restaurants at the Grand including Grand Floridian Cafe, Narcoosee’s and the newly renovated Citricos. For a quick bite to eat visit Gasparilla Island Grill or enjoy a relaxed meal from Beaches Pool Bar and Grill.
Families will enjoy to cool off at the Beach pool which features a water slide and an Alice in Wonderland Splash ground or enjoy the quiet pool which is located near by. The grounds of the resort are simply gorgeous with fountains, green grass, and immaculate floral landscaping.
During the holidays guests can view a life sized gingerbread house and enjoy the decorations in this gorgeous lobby. The Grand Floridian is a great choice for your Walt Disney World vacation! Characters are still there!

10/4/2020

Covid has changed many things at Walt Disney World and while the traditional character meet and greets are currently on hold, there are lots of new ways to see your favorites when visiting the parks!
Throughout the day you will be surprised by random character cavalcades. These are not scheduled but  your favorites my come by in a parade float, spiffy car, carriage, boat or by foot!
You may also find some characters up on balconies of some of the restaurants, out on the lawn, or in a gazebo or elevated area or platform. You are able to take some distanced selfies or have a friend take a picture for you.
Disney is also beginning to bring back some modified character dining. Characters will parade through the restaurant but are currently not stopping to visit at guests at their tables. These experiences currently are Hollywood and Vine for lunch and dinner, Garden Grill lunch or dinner, Cinderella's Royal Table lunch or dinner and beginning Dec.16 Chef Mickey's for breakfast.
The magic and characters are still there it just looks a little different then before.
I would love to help you plan your next Walt Disney World Resort vacation which is available for booking through the end of 2021!

The magic has returned & things are a little different.

7/12/2020

I was lucky enough to attend the Passholder Preview at Magic Kingdom on July 9, 2020. I was excited to see the new look on the castle, be back in one of my favorite places, and see all the new health and safety measures that are put in place to allow for the parks to open. Before entering the parks guests will have their temperatures taken and then will go through a streamlined bag check. All guest ages 2 and up are required to wear face coverings with ear loops. Throughout the park there are lots of hand sanitizing machines as well as portable sink areas. At attractions there are ground and floor marking to make sure guests are social distancing from other guests. You are also not seated near other guests on ride vehicles.  Attractions receive a spray down cleaning every few hours throughout the day. Several of the larger shops are using a virtual line to enter to ensure there are not too many in the shop at a time. At quick service restaurants rows of tables are blocked off as well as every other table. Characters will surprise you throughout the day with pop up musical cavalcades or appearing in various places such as the train station waving and entertaining guests.  Overall I feel Disney has done an amazing job with the new protocols. I am sure there will be many changes throughout this time. Be sure to follow my Facebook page for any updates. Feel free to email me at [email protected]
Inside Pete's Silly Side show you can remove your mask and relax in the AC.

We had an amazing trip to Disneyland in Anaheim, CA this summer. One of our favorite areas was Carsland in California Adventure Park. Here are my top 5 favorite things we like the best.

5. The theming. Disney Imagineers are geniuses! We felt like we were actually residents of Radiator Springs. From the mountains to the small details to the buildings all around us. We were immersed!

4. Photo ops! So many places to take great pictures with and without your family to remember your visit!

3. Mater's Junkyard Jamboree. Sing along with the fun tunes as you get swung around by the little tractors. Silly old fashion fun.

2. Flo's V8 Cafe. A great quick service restaurant that uses mobile ordering. Great burgers, chicken tenders and milkshakes. We really enjoyed our dinner here.

1. RADIATOR SPRINGS RACERS!!!!! One of the best rides in any Disney park. Amazing theming as you and your family go through the story of your pal Lightening McQueen. And when you hit the road get ready to  ride like the wind!!! We road this multiple times at park opening and using the Max Pass!

We can't wait for our next trip to Disneyland and to visit Carsland again. I would love to help with a trip to Disneyland so you can experience all there is there. Contact me at [email protected]

My stay at Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter

8/9/2017

As far as Moderate resorts at Disney World go this is by far my favorite. It is one of the smallest resorts on property which makes really any location of your room a good one. We were in a garden view room in building 4. It was a very quick walk over to the bus stop or the food court, front desk, and gift shop. The food court has some great choices for hot meals as well as to grab and go. We had plenty of room in our room for 3 adults and it can accommodate a family of 4 very easily. The beds were very comfy and there was plenty of room for storing luggage. I love the 2 sinks at the vanity as it made getting ready in the morning more efficient. Cast members at the resort were all very pleasant and helpful when we had questions. The pool is great for all ages and has a fun fenced in splash area for younger children. This is a very popular resort due to it's smaller size but it is a great pick for your Walt Disney World vacation. I would love to help you book a magical stay at Port Orleans French Quarter or any of the amazing resorts at Walt Disney World! Contact me today at [email protected]

Club Level at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort

7/14/2017

I wanted to shared a little about my Club Level stay at Disney's Polynesian Village resort from June 17-24, 2017. We had stayed at the Poly for a short trip once before but this was a very special week for us. Upon arriving we were greeted by one of the cast members who gave us a quick tour of the resort and walked us to Hawaii, the Club Level building. We were personally checked in by the very helpful, Lawerence who gave us all the information we needed about the lounge and it's offerings. We stayed in room 1501 which was a quick jump on the elevator or an easy walk up the steps to the lounge. Breakfast began at 7:00 AM. Each morning there was coffee, juice, and selected teas. Baked goods, fresh fruit, oatmeal, and yogurt parfaits. Mid-day from noon to 4 we enjoyed grilled chicken or shrimp and salad fixings, hummus and pineapple salsa, veggies and dip, various nuts and dried fruit. From 5-7 PM we had heavy appetizers such as sushi, chicken skewers, shrimp salad, pate, bread, cheeses among other offerings. Later in the evening was desserts, wine, and cordials.
I have to say we loved having the availability of the lounge. Especially coming back to the resort mid day for a break from the parks. We were able to take things down to our room in the morning and eat breakfast while getting ready for the day. The level of the service we received by all the cast members in the lounge was top notch! I know we will enjoy another Club Level stay at the Polynesian in the future! Why you should take an adult trip to Disney World

7/11/2016

I am going to combine my last 2 trips into one entry. Both trips had something in common, no kids. That's right folks these were adult trips only! I'll start with my May trip first. I planned a short trip with my mom to celebrate Mother's Day weekend and enjoy Epcot's Flower and Garden Festival. I had been several times but this was her first. We stayed at one of the moderate category resorts Disney's Port Orleans Riverside. I love the grounds of this resort, so beautiful. Mom checked in the night before and I arrived very early in the morning and we were off the Animal Kingdom. We enjoyed taking our time exploring the park and the trails, rode the safari ride, saw Finding Nemo the Musical, and looked in the shops. Something my 7 year old never wants to do! We had a nice break at Dawa bar with some cocktails and Mickey pretzels. Then it was back to the resort for a little relaxing before we took the boat over to Disney Springs. So many new shops and restaurants to explore there now. We stopped off for a drink at Jock Lindsay's Hangar Bar a bar themed after Indiana Jones pilot. It was such a nice evening we sat on the deck over looking the water. Then we headed over to Morimoto's Asia for dinner. This is the most beautiful restaurant. We had excellent service and equally excellent food. We split several appetizers including their famous spare ribs! After some great food and shopping we both slept extremely well. The next day was our Epcot day. We enjoyed a slow place of enjoying all that Flower and Garden Fest has to offer including character topiaries and my favorite the food booths. That night I took my mom to one of my favorite restaurants California Grill. We felt like VIPs as we boarded the special elevator to the top floor of the Contemporary Resort. We had the perfect table with a beautiful view of Magic Kingdom. We enjoyed delicious wine and small plates that filled our tummys! Since we were without children we got to experience some the the Deluxe resort lounges. Stopped off at Trader Sam's at the Polynesian then Minzer's Lounge at the Grand Floridian. I would have to say this was a perfect day. We were up bright and early the morning to be there in time for park opening at Magic Kingdom. Riding rides with my mom, who hadn't been to Magic Kingdom in maybe 30 years, was such a treat! We enjoyed a lovely character meet with Daisy and Minnie. Had a nice lunch at Be Our Guest and enjoyed a few more attractions before taking the boat over to the Grand Floridian for our Mother's Day Tea at the Garden View Tea room. If you can ever fit this into your trip I highly recommend it. We enjoyed delicious tea and scrumptious mini sandwiches and sweet and savory treats. I needed to get back to Port Orleans to catch the Magical Express to the airport so mom and I hugged good-bye. It was a special mother daughter trip that we will be able to do again in November for the Food and Wine Festival.

Then in June my husband and left the kids with Grandma and back to the World to celebrate our 15th Wedding anniversary. We were booked in a studio at Boardwalk Villas. This another one of my favorites. I love the vibe of the old boardwalk days and you cannot beat the location. Take a boat or walk to Hollywood Studios or Epcot. Walk around the lake over to the Yacht and Beach Club resort.
We were pleased to find our room ready. We did a quick unpacking of things and headed over to Yacht Club for a bite to eat the Crew's Cup. We shared a delicious lobster roll, salad, and truffle fries. And of course the best way to begin an adult trip at Disney is with a light up drink! We caught the boat over to Hollywood Studios were we rode some our favorites Star Tours and Toy Story Mania. We also got some warm hugs from Olaf and walked through Walt Disney: One Man's Dream. An attraction that we had never done. Spent some time in the Launch Bay where we had to convince Kylo Ren we were not coming over to the dark side with him! We were excited to dine at the Hollywood Brown Derby for the first time. We were celebrated with confetti on the table and complimentary glasses of champagne. I enjoyed the Crispy Crab cakes and Local Greens Salad with Champagne Vinaigrette and my husband had the Famous Cobb Salad and Pumpkin Seed-crusted Ahi Tuna. We both were impressed and stuffed. We enjoyed exploring the shops without someone whining about when were we going to get out of here! We were super excited to check in to the Star Wars  A Galactic Spectacular Dessert party. This is was an extra ticket event where we we enjoyed our private table in a roped off area with a fabulous view of the new Star Wars fireworks. We enjoyed adult beverages and a combination of sweet and savory delights all with a Star Wars theme. We had a perfect view of the the show that included music, lasers, projections, and of course fireworks. It was a great start to our trip.
Thursday morning we celebrated our anniversary with a trip to our favorite park Magic Kingdom. We enjoyed our favorite rides, lunch at the Plaza, taking pictures with the Photopass photographers, another thing our kids dislike. We headed back to Boardwalk Inn for a dip in the pool and some tasty beverages before heading over the the Grand Floridian for our special dinner at Citricos. When we were seated we were again served complimentary champagne and an even more special treat, a visit from Chef Dom!!! We took all his recommendations and enjoyed the most scrumptious food I have ever had. I had the braised ribs and my husband had the pork belly. We were super stuffed but put a dent into the complimentary dessert tray brought out to us by the pastry chef. It was a dinner I will never forget. We took a lovely stroll from the Grand Floridian over the to the Polynesian where we caught the electrical water pageant. After a drink at Trader Sams we headed back to the resort.
Friday morning we were up early for my husband's private fishing excursion I had surprised him with over at the Yacht Club. He met up with his guide, Rick, for an amazing bass fishing trip of Cresent Lake and the World Showcase Lagoon. I headed over to Epcot to meet Joy and Sadness at park opening.I met up with my husband and we head over to the newly refurbished Norway Pavilion to ride the brand new Frozen Ever After. What a delightful ride! Can't wait for my kids to enjoy it. Took  a lovely stroll around World Showcase eating and drinking with a lunch stop over at Spice Road Table for some yummy appetizers. It was nice staying so close to Epcot where we could head back to the resort for a rest. We came back later for another dessert party this time for Illuminations. A show we had never seen due to our kids inability to stay up late. Again we enjoyed a great variety of sweet and savory snacks and champagne and a wonderful view of the lake right in front where they display all the effects. I was amazed and so glad I was able to finally able to see this spectacular show.
The next morning we were able to enter Epcot early for our 8:00 breakfast at Garden Grill. Not only did we enjoy Mickey, Pluto, Chip, and Dale but our lovely server brought us the most delightful assortment of breakfast items. My favorite was the cinnamon roll. After breakfast we we able to get onto the brand new Soarin' even before the park opened. We got right back in line after our first ride to to ride it again!!! We enjoyed a few other favorite attractions then hopped the bus over to Animal Kingdom. We stopped off at our beloved Dawa bar for some Safari Ambers and a Mickey Pretzel. We enjoyed a great performance of the Festival of the Lion King and a wonderful ride on the safari. What I was most excited about was checking out the brand new signature restaurant, Tiffins and Nomad Lounge. We checked in then found a great seat at the bar. I had a Leaping Lizard and my husband had the Kungaloosh Spiced Ale. The lounge and the main restaurant are decorated with beautiful art work representing world travel. For our dinner we were treated to some mouth watering entrees. I enjoyed the Chermoula-Rubbed Chicken and my husband had the Berkshire Pork Tenderloin. We had a very knowledgeable server and highly enjoyed the entire experience. We experienced some of the new night time entertainment before boarding the bus back to our resort.
Sunday was check out day. We used airport luggage check in right at the resort and we delighted to find our already printed boarding passes slipped under our door. We said our last goodbyes to Mickey and the Magic Kingdom as we rode some of our favorites and picked up few souvenirs for my mom and the kids. We enjoyed some amazing adult dining, celebrating our anniversary, and spent time together in the most Magical Place in the World.

My Magical Voyage on the Disney Fantasy-Spring Break

4/17/2016

We started out down to Port Canaveral the day before boarding the ship, which is highly recommended. We spent the night at the Country Inn and Suites right by the port. Great room, lots of space, and a great hot breakfast the next day. The breakfast room was full of energy of that days cruisers. We opted to drive our care to the terminal and pay to park there for the week. It is so easy to drop your luggage at the curb and walk right into the terminal. After security we checked in for the cruise and registered the kids for the kids club. We had one of the earliest boarding times so when we boarded we went right to Port Adventures desk. This is where you would get your tickets for the Princess meet and greets. We chose to do the Disney jr. breakfast so we received our tickets there. Then my husband signed up for some adult beverage tastings and it was time for lunch at Cabanas. So many yummy choices for everyone. Both my kids always to try new things on a cruise too! Rooms are ready at 1:30 so we dropped off our carry on then headed to the Tube for a meet and greet with our Facebook group. It was great to meet some other couples and both my kids instantly made friends with others their age. We hung out with two families all week which made everything more fun. Time for the sail away party then we were off to the Caribbean. Disney has rotational dining so our first night for dinner at Animators Palate (my favorite). Your servers stay with you the whole week as you rotate restaurants. Animators palate looks like you are inside the studio of a Disney Animator. After dinner the kids enjoyed time in clubs and my husband and I headed to get a drink. We all had a great night sleep. This cruise we were in a verandah room on deck 7. Each morning we had room service deliver coffee which we drank on the deck. It was Easter morning and the morning of our Disney Jr. Breakfast. The breakfast took place in Animator's Palate. As our favorite Disney Jr. shows played on the screens we enjoy Mickey waffles, eggs, and bacon and other yummy items as Goofy, Pluto, Jake, and Doc McStuffins came around for pictures. We enjoyed lots of fun things on the ship like the Great Detective Agency game, Disney Trivia, mini golf, swimming, and so much more. That night was formal night. We all dressed up in our finest! With dinner at Enchanted Garden. After dinner was Disney's Dreams, a Broadway style show with singing and dancing and of course our favorite characters.
We enjoyed the next day at sea with the kids busy with their friends and the activities in the clubs. My husband had an amazing dining experience at Palo for brunch. Palo brunch is an extra cost and worth every cent. Our server, Pamela, was knowledgeable about all the food and even challenged us to try every dessert. We enjoyed a lovely table looking out at the water. Upon leaving we immediately made a reservation again for brunch on our next sea day. Palo brunch is a must do!
We met up with the kids and it was time for some Aquaduck! Aquaduck is a water coaster that goes around the outside of the ship. It had been too windy the day before but this day was fine. Another one of our favorites on a Disney Cruise is all you can eat free soft serve! I am sure I gained 5 pounds just from that! We decided we would skip our assigned dining that night for dinner at Cabanas. For dinner it is a sit down dinner where you order off the menu. The food was great and it was much more relaxing environment. The show that night was Aladdin and it was amazing. My favorite part was when they sang A Whole New World and flew on the magic carpet.
The next day we were up early for a yummy breakfast at Cabanas and a full day at our first port, Tortola. We booked the Long Bay Beach and Lunch. After a short tour of the island we spent the day at the Long Bay Beach club. We had chairs for the day, access to the pool and a delicious lunch. What a beautiful place. That night was pirate night. We all had full pirate costumes which I highly recommend. It just makes things more fun. All the cast members join in on the fun as well. We enjoyed the pirate menu at Animator's Palate then some singing and dancing on deck 11 with Mickey and his pirate crew! Later that night we were entertained by Captain Jack Sparrow and the most amazing fireworks show! Disney Cruise Line is the only one with fireworks at sea! After the fireworks we headed to Cabanas for a late night pirate buffet. Everyone slept soundly after all the excitement.
St.Thomas was our next port. What a beautiful sight to wake up to! I really enjoyed have the verandah that morning. That day we took a cab to Morning Star Beach Marriot where I had bought a beach day pass. The pass included chairs, an umbrella, and adult beverages. The kids enjoyed the beach and ocean as we relaxed and sipped Margaritas. Lunch was at Coco Joes. Delish! We relaxed by the pool after lunch and headed back to the ship for some Aquaduck time before dinner. My son wanted to stay at the kids club so we let him stay and they even serve dinner there so it was a nice relaxing time with our daughter at dinner at Enchanted Garden. I ate the most delicious turkey. After dinner my daughter met up with her friend and we enjoyed visiting O'Gills the Irish bar.
Thursday was our at sea day so back to Palo we went then we enjoyed a Rainforest spa pass. We tried the steam rooms, different shower sprays, hot tub, and my favorite, the heated lounge chairs. We spent time in the adult pool area with a few refreshing drinks. It was semi formal night which we enjoyed with dinner at Royal Court. The most scrumptious lobster tail and incredible desserts. That night we enjoyed the magic of Shawn Farquhar and got a good night's sleep for our day at Castaway Cay. That night the captain announced there could be some unpredictable seas so our arrival at Castaway Cay would be delayed.
We took our time the next morning sleeping in and enjoyed a leisurely breakfast. When it was announced we could disembark we had unfortunately missed our Stingray Adventure but still had time to find a great spot on the family beach. I rented some floats for the kids and we enjoyed the day. Lunch is served at Cookie's and includes burgers, hotdogs, grilled chicken and ribs and all the fixin's and of course more ice cream. We enjoyed some more beach time and souvenir shopping then back to the ship for one last ride on the Aquaduck. We wanted to arrive early for dinner that night since we were in for a special surprise at Animator's Palate that I am not going to tell you about and is only available on the 7 night Fantasy cruise. It is by far one of my favorite things that happened that week. We met up with some friends for a little Disney Cruise trivia. My daughter met up with her friend to see Zootopia and my son headed to the kids club. We needed to have our bags outside our room by 10:30 so we took this time to pack up and thank our stateroom hostess Annette for all her hard work. We finally had packed all of our wonderful fish extender gifts, everything we had bought and brought and met up with the kids for our last night.
We were up bright and early for our last breakfast in Animator's Palate and took one last walk around the ship before departing. We had a fabulous week, met new friends, and made tons of family memories. We can't wait to go back on our next Disney Cruise!
I can highly recommend one that is just right for you. Contact me today!
