Spring Break is a very popular time to travel and this year with the partial government shutdown affecting TSA is making the process much more difficult. Here are some of my tips to help make it more of a stress free experience.
5. Bring snacks to the airport. Airport food is expensive. I always pack things like small bags of nuts, protein bars, and pretzels in my carry on. Helps me avoid buying the expensive items in the terminal. 4. Bring a sweatshirt. Even in the warmer times the airport is always cold. One time I forgot one and I am now the proud owner of an extremely expensive airport blanket! 3. Make sure you have the proper documents before your trip. Remember everyone age 16 and up must have proper documentation to fly. This means the RealID or a passport for domestic flights and a passport for international travel. Print your boarding pass or have it saved on to your wallet BEFORE getting to the airport. 2. Get TSA precheck. This is something that needs to be done way in advance of your trip but I HIGHLY recommend it for everyone in your family. It is good for 5 years and will allow you to go through the normally shorter security line at TSA. 1. And my number one suggestion? Get there EARLY! Better to be sitting in the terminal enjoying Starbucks then standing in line at the ticket counter trying to rebook a missed flight. You should be able to see TSA wait times on your airport's app or website but this will vary day to day. My rule of thumb is better to be safe than sorry. Aren't traveling this Spring Break? These tips are great for all times of the year. Interested in my expertise planning your next vacation? Reach out to me at [email protected] Comments are closed.
